Instead 5K Register Now for Achieve’s INstead 5K Race Sept 25-27

For 17 years, the Newstead 5K race has kicked off the new school year in South Orange-Maplewood, attracting hundreds of enthusiastic runners and walkers for a morning of healthy activity, connection and fundraising. Due to Covid and social distancing requirements, we won’t be able to gather and run together this September, but we can walk or run the INstead 5K!

This year’s race has a bit of twist — it will be fully virtual. Race weekend will be Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, 2020. Choose your day, time and route. You can run/walk the classic Newstead neighborhood loop, select from one of several suggested race routes that pass by our beloved SOMA school buildings, or opt for any route of your choosing.

We are most grateful to the 47 local businesses and families who sponsored this year’s race! In addition to being featured on Achieve’s website and monthly newsletter, sponsors receive community exposure by getting their names or logos on the popular race T-shirts. 

Race registration is now open! Entry is only $25 per person until September 20; after that the registration fee will increase to $35. Participants will get our popular race T-shirts (while supplies last).
