The Maplewood Division of Arts & Culture invites young female artists, ages 10 - 20, to submit artwork for Just Like A Girl*, a collaborative exhibition at 1978 Maplewood Arts Center in celebration of Women’s History Month. This exhibition aims to challenge stereotypes and showcase the creativity, strength, and vision of young female artists.Hosted by: Maplewood Division of Arts & CultureExhibition Location: 1978 Maplewood Arts Center, 1978 Springfield Ave, Maplewood, NJEligibilityOpen to all female artists ages 10 - 20 years old (we welcome all who identify as female, including non-binary persons).Must be residents of Maplewood or South Orange.Individual and group submissions accepted.

Application RequirementsSubmit 1 to 3 pieces of artwork via Google Form.Important Dates:March 2, 2025 – Submission deadline (11:59 PM EST)March 5 - 7, 2025 – Artwork drop-off (9 AM - 4:30 PM)March 15, 2025 – Opening ReceptionMarch 15 - 30, 2025 - Exhibition on view (open Saturdays and Sundays)March 30, 2025 – Closing Reception
Important NotesArtwork must be ready to be displayed (framed if needed or with hooks for hanging).Artists must be able to deliver and pick up their work at 1978 Arts Center.
