After Juneteenth many of the ex-enslaved left their enslavers with new hope in their hearts only to be faced with more hardship. Now, nearly 160 years later, we explore the present day hopes and struggles of Black Americans through the eyes of Maplewood artist Marc A. Gaston. This interactive exhibit will allow you to share your insights on his provocative artwork that lends itself so easily to social discourse.  You will also hear the artist's vision as he created the work of art in question.
