RECKON SO is a long-time Maplewood resident group, Danny Weiss and Mary Olive. They have been on NYC’s music scene since their official debut in 2005, but have been making music together for years. Danny & MO’s natural connection on stage, great tunes, hot picking, dynamic vocals, sweet duets and a mix of Honky Tonk, Roots Country, Western Swing and Bluegrass always make for an infectious good time.
Danny Weiss (who mooonlights as the Director of the Fanwood Memorial LIbrary) has been playing the guitar and singing for over 50 years, and was a founding member of the ground-breaking contemporary bluegrass band, Tony Trischka & Skyline.
Mary Olive Smith brings with her North Carolina roots to the mix along with an infectious energy and sweet, compelling vocals. She is also an Emmy-award winning docummentary film maker and continues to address socially relevant issues through her productions.
