Be a part of the Inktober® phenomenon!
Inktober® was created in 2009 by artist Jake Parker as a challenge to himself to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. Every year, Jake develops a list of 31 one-word prompts for each day in October. People around the world take on the challenge to create an ink drawing each day based on that day’s prompt.
All through October, the walls of 1978 will be open for our community to join this worldwide art project! The walls will be divided into panels for each day, labeled with the date and Jake’s official prompt. Everyone in the community — all ages and abilities — are invited to do an ink drawing for the prompts. Draw one or draw 31! Let’s fill the room with ink drawings!
#Inktober is also #Socktober and we’ve joined forces with Feed SoMany to be a collection point for the October sock drive for the entire month! Bring socks to donate and get ready to draw!
Many thanks to our sponsors, Fringe Salon and A Paper Hat for supporting this project!
