The Local Heroes band backs up a rotating roster of Maplewood and South Orange’s best singers.
Every year, The Local Heroes present the SOMA Rocks -- A Singer Showcase benefit concert. This annual event showcases the amazing singing talent from the South Orange and Maplewood community, while raising money for local causes. For each SOMA Rocks event, The Local Heroes invite their talented neighbors and members of the community to be guest vocalists. The singers pick the songs and the band prepares and arranges them. For past shows, all proceeds benefited the Columbia High School Music Parents Association (CHSMPA).
The Local Heroes Backing Band are David Diamond, Matt Katz, David Pohl, Mark Litwin, Dave Shields, and Chris Tarrow.
