From Girlhood to Womanhood: Let's Talk about Coming of Age in Our Cultures

  • Maplewood, NJ 07040 USA (map)

The sponsoring organization is the Women’s Multicultural Alliance, a completely volunteer, local group of women in NJ whose response to the scourge of racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination is to build camaraderie between women of all cultures.

A gathering of over 200 women in September 2019 launched what has now become an online series of presentations and discussions. There are no fees nor obligations for participants.

We seek women of all ages who want to share their stories, who are curious about others, and who understand that creating a national culture of respect begins with the connections we build here in our own communities.

Our focus on May 23 will be coming-of-age moments in various cultures – something that all can share. Diverse and provocative panelists will launch our discussion, which will then continue in small breakout groups. We’ll wrap up the program with music in a little over an hour. (In the future, we look forward to returning to sharing food, arts and dance, as well.)

A flyer is attached with more information about the program. If you would like to join us, please register at:
